On the currency, at the poker room? Rooms are all taken into account or just a selection? Or change the Top-Spieler/innen in the online world so fast that an informed Ranking is impossible? Who are the loosers and skim the net? Poker News, the Internet has to be trimmed and some statistics views.
Where best to start? Google – good idea! Laaange A list of sites which publish online player statistics such as … Internet Poker Rankings. The site exists since 2006 and are the results of the largest online tournaments with a buy-in of $ 100 and a prize pool of more than $ 100,000, – tracked. Since this year there is the list of "International Player of the Year." This title may sound a bit confusing, because it involves only players from the USA …? Nevertheless, the leader in international top players.
Currently occupied "Pearl Jammer" Platz 1 Internet poker rankings list. Behind this nickname hides Jon Turner – 26 years young, lives in Henderson, Nevada. Other nicknames are "Pearjammed", "Pearljams" or "asdfgher." Just behind Turner, ranked 2, is "USCphildo." He says with the correct name of Phil Collins. And NO, it is not about the musician, composer and drummer of Genesis, but a 23 years young Südstaatler of Columbia. For Bodog and AbsolutePoker he plays under the synonym "SuSSudi0". He also prefers to play No-Limit Hold'em and Pot-limit with buy-ins from $ 100 and higher. About his experiences in the poker world (online and live), he reported in his blog. He writes for example today that Bluff Magazine him as the author wants to hire – that is the blog where care. His total winnings so far this year is $ 523,381, -.
In the "Shark Scope" list dated 3 August in the "every game", "no matter what use" and "Total Profit 2008" leads "livb112" the list. Behind this online synonym hides Olivier Busquet. He is, as Turner, also only 26 years young and lives in New York City. In his entire online poker career, he has until now played 22,665 games and nearly 1 million U.S. dollars earned. Modifies you at "Shark Scope" the bet per tournament on $ 1000 +, it also appears "livb112" – the man clearly likes to play high-stakes tournaments, and especially in Holde'em heads-up. early 2007, he was a loud "Shark Scope" in the heads up / use any amount "the leader with a total profit of $ 540,025, -. In 2008 he leads this list – so far total $ 408,801 profit, -. That is him in the overall comparison of other variants, and also limits the total peak. His favorite poker room is FullTilt.
Under "Hold'em player 9 or more" leads "scossett" – also not unknown in online poker. His real name? Unknown. The fact is, however, that he is Canadian, and only 24 years young. The PokerStars Blog is an interesting story about him to find – but he has in just one year into a top player develops. He has more than 3 million "Frequent Player Points on PokerStars and then collected his Porsche Cayenne in the PokerStars VIP club deserves. His favorite tournaments are high" Sit n 'Go's "- because he plays like dozens of tables at the same time. PokerStars writes about him: "In the meantime he may be the illustrious circle of PokerStars Supernova Elite-count."
And goes on the search for the top online players …
On the site "Official Poker Rankings are Online-Spieler/innen after the poker rooms listed. Take into account the results of the last 120 days. For Party Poker introduces" ganjasx "- mmmhhh, very interesting about this person in the network is no real name or a background story to be found. So in the private sense – online tournament results can be found on many … "Shark Scope" is this / r players in gelistet. Well, let's see whether it is after the publication of this article references to the identity of this / r player / in there … In any case he / she is in the last 120 days, exactly 11 times a tournament as the first ended. The Poker No Limit Hold'em variant may he / she prefers – the total prize money was $ 151,096, -. The buy-in amount to which he / they participate varies from $ 22 to $ 500 +.
Leading on PokerStars at the "Official Poker Rankings" is "JohnnyBax" – he is, as opposed to "ganjasx", not unknown in the network. For behind this nickname is hidden Cliff Josephy. Already since 2006 he is pushing his "mischief" in the network and has his job as a broker on the New York Stock Exchange against the poker game exchanged. Also in the live game, he is not unknown, but he has the $ 1,500 Seven-Card Stud in a WSOP bracelet won. More recently, in late July, he was the "Super Tuesday" tournament on PokerStars (Buy-in $ 1.050, -) and second has $ 59,917, – won. His favorite poker variants are Hold'em No Limit and Pot Limit multi-table -Tournaments. Even when he "Official Poker Rankings at PokerStars on # 1 is listed, so even if Bax plays AbsolutePoker, Fulltiltpoker and Party Poker.
Maximum mysterious when it is held "Halfrek" in the heading at FullTilt Official Poker Rankings. " Reading in the poker forums, will be behind this nickname Danish poker pro Phillip Hilmer suspects. An entry of an email transport negates this assumption, however, because an e-mail request, whether ER because "Halfrek" was Hilmer replied: "I'm not Halfrek, which is a friend of mine. He will prefer to remain anonymous, so I can not mention his name. I play but have been a few years poker with him. " So is "Halfrek" Den … but perhaps it is an evasive maneuvers by Hilmer, because he is in the network is not "outing" wants? Whatever – this "Halfrek" is really not "bad parents", because of the "Full Tilt Online Poker Series" in May this year, he has twice and in only 7 days, $ 850,000, – won. His total prize money in 2008 amounts previously saturated at $ 915,525, -, his favorite poker game is No Limit Hold'em with high buy-ins.
Also "PocketFives leads a worldwide online tournament ranking and have done so since 2005. The list is updated every Wednesday. The list is of" djk123 "above. Dan Kelly is behind this Nick. At Poker Stars Nightly Hundred Grand "he won at the" Full Tilt Online Poker Series "in May, he was third – the prize money was $ 55,636, -, his favorite versions are Hold'em No Limit or Pot Limit with buy-ins from $ 100, -.
The list of the top online players with a long, very long. For the poker player with the World Wide Web growing every day. Nevertheless crystallize the best of the best out. Even if the rankings are different – ultimately include the skills and a little luck cards.

Posted by texasholdemplayer on August 10, 2009
In a nearly 90-minute Texas Hold'em No-Limit Heads-up duellierte the Frenchman Arnaud Mattern with the Italians Gino 'El Diablo' Alacgua and eventually won the final table at the EPT Prague in 2007.
2006, Arnaud Mattern times $ 51,000. Now he admits right off: it gets in the EPT Prague in 2007 the largest payout in his poker career with a prize money of € 708,400! Gino Alacgua goes with € 407,300 from the second table.
Although Gino has acted as a favorite and more chips to the final table brought the Frenchman kept calm and waited for the right moment. And many hands had long patience. But then there were the highlights in the heads-up: The first crucial situation: The Italian Gino Alacgua Raiste to 210,000. Mattern keep – and full – now or never – All-in! Gino: Call! The board brings nothing but the Italians, and therefore he must submit the chip lead! A new situation. Matt wanted to make no mistake and prematurely lose the lead. The Italians also played cautiously, he had the situation only seems processed. So many hands went there only to and fro, no one gets the Top Final hand in order to decide the tournament. The Poker News interview: Barry Greenstein, Part 1 |
Posted by texasholdemplayer on August 10, 2009
Barry Greenstein takes in today's poker scene a unique, central position. Since he has been for decades with his money poker deserves, he is often compared with the older generation of poker players linked. So with those players with whom he has been for many years at the poker table and attaches to it has become a friendship. Where he is currently more associated with the young post-boom poker players. Responsible for this is more or less his son, the professional poker player Joe Sebok and his poker strategy and poker entertainment web Road.
Poker News talked with Green Stone about the past and the future of poker. The World Poker Tour Championship 2009 was held in Bellagio, and the interview was at an empty table in Bobby's Room, while the neighboring table Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, Eli Elezra, Sam Farha, and some other players the famous "Big Game" played . Greenstein talked with us about different topics – his own poker career, the status of poker in a contemporary culture, the future of poker Road, the upcoming WSOP and about whether math is idiotic or not.
Poker News: Many of us were at Berry Greenstein attention only when it became known that he had all of its profits for charitable purposes donates – the "Robin Hood of Poker". In think the charity is still an important issue for you – you have just the Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament at Venetian participated …
Barry Greenstein: Yeah, that was me. Have some money donated.
PN: I know that it is not entirely correct, if it is alleged that all their poker winnings for charity donation.
Green Stone: No, this is currently not correct. When I initially donated money, many people thought that I would be super rich guy who his money with Symantec (the software company for which Greenstein works) would have done. What you did not know was the fact that my money is not deserved by Symantec, but I have only donated money to my poker profits derived. For me personally, the games, which I can win, no longer as before. Poker Tournament took me a lot of money, as well as online poker, there is no longer live so many good games in which I could participate. Moreover, the economic situation is not really good. How many of the other poker players I have in the stock market and investing in real estate, and as we all know, it ran in the last few years with these forms of investment are not so good. I've lost a few million.
I currently no longer bank roll, over which I had some years ago, when I made my tournament winnings yet so simple was able to donate. Also I did not play many tournaments. I was fortunate to have won some tournaments and a lot of money donated, but then my financial situation was also much better than today. I am still committed for Children Incorporated (an international relief organization for children) and do a lot for the organization. But it is more about the things that I do for charity, I no longer donate money, which I have a few years ago, had donated.
PN: You have in other interviews have indicated that your success in life is not to justify poker, you also have never really said how many tournaments you have won. You have three WSOP bracelet's, some WPT titles and won many other titles-What do you think was their biggest tournament success?
Green Stone: That was without question my first World Poker Tour earnings (at the Jack Binion World Poker Open in 2004). I have not played many tournaments. I was in the first year of the WPT is not how many other players, herumgereist. I was not right with it. Then I had the idea but with the donations for charitable purposes and this has given me the motivation. I knew that if I managed to win the million and then to give away, so for me would be a good thing and I also so a lot of people could help. I thought to myself that other people would follow my example. That is why I was highly motivated to implement my plan. When I look back now, I must say that I really had much luck. I think at this time, it happens very often in poker that you have a good feeling that you think would be the best player and could defeat each. I wanted to do something good, and I have achieved my personal goal, everything has just fit perfectly. You know, just because I had planned to do it, it is still a long way, so that it also comes in for special poker tournaments.
But it was the way I had planned it and I could with the money a lot of good things to do, what I was really proud. It was also for my family a good thing, because I am up to that time was just someone who has played poker and time wasted, in what other things I successfully could have been. After I had done this – and by that I do not win the poker tournament, but the fact that I do with my money a lot of people could help – my family was really proud of me. With my family, my sisters and my brothers, my father and my children. They were on the whole thing with all my heart with it.
PN: It is interesting to witness how the setting in relation to poker and poker players in the last year has changed. You need not go far in history to go back to a time to arrive at what the views on the topic of poker were still quite different. What is the status of poker in their opinion today in our culture?
Greenstein: I think the Gambler were always considered as a kind of "cool" guys on TV and in films shown. Today poker enjoys a much greater legitimacy. On television, we are now little celebrities. I think people now understand the negative aspects of gambling better – whether it's gambling at poker, at the stock exchange or in the business world. People can lose their money. But the successful gambler, I think, were before the poker boom respected. Previously, e.g. Omar Sharif played the Gambler or James Bond has played a gamble. Since people are now in the TV poker can see, this has the interest in poker increased and it has become one of our culture, since many people have finally understood that while poker is now all at a much higher level expires, as in earlier times. Viewers know the card values, they know when the players have a flush draw, whether they know the players in an all-in bluff or not.
Meanwhile I know a lot of people from the TV and nobody has said to me: "You are a poker player – this is not good." There are more such things as: "You are the model of my 8-year-old boy." I think poker is now fully recognized. The only negative comments come from the religious right or from the Congress and much of it is simply invented. The drive for the money. There are Members who receive this money, the people of the right to defend each and then tell it would be purely moral reasons. But it is not! Perhaps these MPs go home and play online poker at night after the daytime so they had acted as if they refuse poker.
PN: It is now 1.5 years since the website went online poker Road and the site continues to grow steadily. What do you think, how come?
Greenstein: Yes true, the site is constantly growing, and in any case, what the content is concerned. We believe that we have a real niche have. Poker News is up front with it on the news front and the boys of poker news do a super job. But our niche is the entertainment – our radio shows, our Web-TV-Shows, the whole thing with the comedy and our forums. For the things that we employ, we are certainly in relation to the internet poker with the best content. We believe that we are in our Red Pro forum with policy issues at the highest level employ. We sit here in BOBBYS Room. You see all my friends: Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, Eli Elezra, etc. If I say to my friends that during the WSOP Poker Road for something to do, they will do it. And no one has such friends as I do.
